Foreword from Chairperson

Updated: Dec 30, 2018

2018 has been an eventful year for both myself and my teammates. In September, weary from my preliminary examinations, I shared with my current teammates, Kailin, Jessica, Olivia, Edward, Xintian and Rachel about the idea of helping and animal shelter and they did not hesitate to offer help. In October and November, we sat for our O levels. It was a hectic and stressful period, but we pulled through. And right after our last paper, we jumped right into the project, committing much more time and effort than we did before.

Mission Pawsible, if you would, seems like an impossible task for a bunch of lost 15 and 16 year olds. However, looking at our progress now, I am confident that Mission Pawsible will materialize, and I’m sure that it will turn out awesome. In the Mission Impossible movies, Ethan Hunt is always tasked with seemingly impossible missions and meets many hurdles along the way. But, at the end of the day (or movie) he still gets it done successfully. We chose the name Mission Pawsible to convey this idea - that we can achieve impossible things.

From Mission Pawsible, we expanded into Overly Helpful Youths Engaging Society (OHYES). OHYES aims to empower less fortunate people and assist Non-Profit Organizations in their operations, and in their aims, through ad-hoc projects. This may sound like a really big thing, especially for inexperienced, over-achieving youths with many commitments, but we believe that with enough determination and with a positive learning attitude, we will eventually succeed in achieving our aims.

With this, I hope that I gave you an insight to what OHYES is like, and we look forward to working with other organizations or youths to make a positive difference in the world.

Cheers! <3

Annette Toh

Chairperson of OHYES
